About Ben Hicks

Hello, my name is Benjamin Hicks, and I am the owner and bookkeeper at Hicks Bookkeeping Charlotte. Alongside me is my wife, Angela, who has been an important part of this journey from the very beginning. Together, we built this firm with one goal in mind: to provide reliable, professional bookkeeping services that help small business owners gain confidence and clarity in their finances.

My path into bookkeeping is not the traditional one, and I believe that gives me a unique perspective. For more than 15 years, I have worked for the same national petroleum equipment supplier, serving in a variety of roles within the petroleum and convenience store industry. Throughout that time, my responsibilities have required organization, accountability, attention to detail, and clear communication with business owners and customers. Those experiences taught me the importance of following through on commitments, staying organized under pressure, and understanding the practical realities and challenges that small business owners face every day.

During my time with the company, I have served in both operational and leadership roles, including Project Manager and, currently, data management. As a Project Manager, I was responsible for overseeing projects with significant budgets and financial considerations, and my current role in data management requires precision, consistency, and attention to detail every day. Each position has reinforced the very skills that are foundational to good bookkeeping: organization, accuracy, reliability, and clear communication.

Having spent more than 15 years working alongside business owners in the petroleum and convenience store industry, I understand that behind every set of books is a person trying to serve customers, care for employees, support their family, and make sound decisions for their business. I know firsthand that business owners need financial information they can trust and a bookkeeping partner they can depend on.

I am a Certified Bookkeeper and an Intuit Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, specializing exclusively in QuickBooks Online and providing small business bookkeeping, monthly bookkeeping services, and financial cleanup services. By focusing on one platform, I am able to work more efficiently and develop a deeper understanding of QuickBooks Online's features and best practices, allowing me to provide accurate, streamlined, and dependable bookkeeping services for my clients.
